Well, the negotiating didn’t go so well. Actually, it went ok, they just couldn’t lower the prices anymore without taking a loss. Even a stack of $100 fanned out and waving in front of them wouldn’t make them budge. But, that turned out to be a good thing!
The next week, I started looking through the classifieds on eHam.net. Only searched for a couple of days before I found one. Only 2 months old, never mobile and only used a couple hours. The guy decided not to replace the radio he was currently using as his mobile rig. NICE! Price? $889. Brand new off the shelf this thing goes for $1239.
I think I did pretty good. A little patience paid off. Hopefully I’ll remain patient while it’s being shipped. Yup, another week.
