After trying to tune my home brew 1.2GHz yagi better and hosing it up, I decided on building another.
Instead of a wood boom, I decided to use 3/4 inch PVC this time. This makes it easy to attach to the mast. For portable ops, I use a PVC coupler attached to the mast and then I stick the end of the boom into that. It’s a simple idea that makes it really easy to attach and twist the antenna to change polarization.
